"I have used this book for a year in an introductory course on radiation oncology for medical residents. The text is well suited for medical residents and radiation technologists, and it would prove valuable to a health physicist who wishes to become familiar with basic radiation oncology practices.
"The book provides detailed chapters on basic physics and radiation sources;
photon interactions and dosimetry; x-ray and electron beam parameters; treatment
planning; brachytherapy; and radiation safety. Several appendices give signs
and symbols, dosimetry tables for radiation beams, and a section on radioactive
decay. It is suprising that the appendix on radioactive decay was not included
as a chapter in the book. A large number of worked examples are provided
along with practice problems."
